On This Day - 19th July

On this day in 1986, 40 BriSCA F2 Stock Cars contested a Saturday night World Championship qualifying round at Newton Abbot, and 686 Garry Hooper effected a successful last lap challenge of 642 Dave Luscombe to grab the win, with 651 Gary Sansom completing the top three.  The feature race also included £10 lap leader bonuses, and it was 513 Roy Slocombe who scooped many of those as the early pacesetter.
